Martial PReservation Projects

  • Shuai Jiao also known as Chinese Wrestling and it’s parent art Mongolian Bökh Wrestling are two tremendously powerful styles of stand up grappling that are practiced to an incredible level not seen elsewhere in the world within China and Mongolia. This project aims to spread and thus preserve these amazing wrestling arts and their skill. This is accomplished with a dual approach by both sharing these arts in their original context as well as importing their techniques and skills into BJJ and MMA as a way further immortalizing them.

  • Tomiki Aikido is a unique form of Aikido developed by Kenji Tomiki, a student of both Morihei Ueshiba (the founder of aikido) and Jigoro Kano (the founder of Judo). What makes Tomiki Aikido so special is the integration of Randori or live sparring with resistance into its pedagogy and practice. This key difference yields a much more martial form of Aikido that can hold It’s own against other arts and combat sports. The aim of this project is to place the techniques of Tomiki Aikido into a greater, complete system that encompasses BJJ, Judo and Tomiki Aikido in an integrated fashion. By doing this I aim to spread and preserve Tomiki Aikido and repair the reputation of Aikido within the martial arts community.

  • The aim of this project is to spread, preserve and document Tai Chi Chuan and Baguazhang in the lineage of Mr. B.P. Chan as well as others. An important facet of this is showing how these arts can increase performance in combat sports. While improved performance in the ring is only a tiny sliver of what these arts have to offer it is a meaningful way to grow their reputation and notoriety.
